Surti locho Recipe

Ingredients Surti locho:

  1. 4 cups chana daal
  2. 1 cup rice
  3. 3/4 cup dahi
  4. 5 tbspn ginger-green chilli paste
  5. 2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. as per taste Salt
  7. 1 tbspn sugar
  8. Oil (peanut oil preferred)
  9. 1 tsp hing(asafoetida)
  10. Eno
  11. For green chutney
  12. 2 handful coriander leaves
  13. 1/2 cup mint leaves
  14. 2 garlic cloves
  15. 2-3 green chillies
  16. 1 tbspn lemon juice
  17. as per taste Salt
  18. For garnish
  19. 1 tsp Coriander leaves chopped
  20. 1 tsp Sev(plain)
  21. 1 tbsp Onion small chopped
  22. 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  23. 1 tsp Chat masala
  24. 1 tsp Green chutney
  25. 1 tsp Pepper powder
  26. 1 tsp Peanut oil

How to cook Surti locho:

  1. For chutney: blend all the ingredients till smooth. Add water if required to balance consistency. Keep aside.

  2. Wash and soak chana daal and rice separately for 6-8 hours.

  3. Grind soaked and drained daal+rice until you get just a little grainy and close to smooth paste. Add little water for consistency.

  4. Mix both pastes together in a big bowl along with salt
